IIC UGent is a joint project of Ghent University, Hogeschool Gent, the province of East Flanders, the city of Ghent, Gewestelijke Investeringsmaatschappij Vlaanderen, BNP-Paribas Fortis, Arcelor-Mittal, Suez, Ethias, Alcatel-Lucent, Internationale Jaarbeurs Vlaanderen, LVD and UCO. The Ghent University Incubation and Innovation Centre is a service centre for spin-offs of the Ghent University Association. It is at the disposal of spin-offs coming from the various faculties of the AUG.
Our mission is to support the start-up, growth and development of young innovative high-tech companies. By stimulating synergy and networking, IIC UGent aims to create a dynamic climate for young and creative entrepreneurship.
IIC Ghent University is first and foremost a business generator.
Spin-offs from the AUG can go there for logistical and operational support and are offered a strategic service package to successfully start up and develop their company.
IIC Ghent University can provide the right support mix for each project by drawing on its extensive network of technical, legal and financial advisers. IIC Ghent University offers solutions for every challenge in the start-up and growth process thanks to its close cooperation with strategic partners: Technology Transfer University Ghent, Hogeschool Ghent, the Regional Development Company East Flanders, the city of Ghent and the other shareholders of IIC Ghent University.
Since its establishment in 1990 until 2010, 87 high-tech companies were successfully started up in IIC University Ghent. The fact that in the Incubation and Innovation Centre there is a wide variety of disciplines and activities of the research-oriented companies located in IIC University Ghent ensures a thorough synergy between the various disciplines which allows new innovative activities to emerge.
Onze missie is de begeleiding van de opstart, groei en ontwikkeling van jonge innoverende hoog-technologische bedrijven. Door het stimuleren van synergie en netwerking, wil het IIC UGent een dynamisch klimaat creëren voor jong en creatief ondernemerschap.
Spin-offs van de AUG kunnen er terecht voor logistieke en operationele ondersteuning en krijgen er een strategisch dienstenpakket aangeboden om hun onderneming succesvol op te starten en uit te bouwen.
Het IIC Universiteit Gent kan voor elk project de juiste begeleidingsmix realiseren door beroep te doen op haar uitgebreid netwerk van technische, juridische en financiële adviseurs. Het IIC Universiteit Gent biedt oplossingen aan voor elke uitdaging in het opstart- en groeitraject dankzij de nauwe samenwerking met strategische partners: Technologie Transfer Universiteit Gent, de Hogeschool Gent, de Gewestelijke Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij Oost- Vlaanderen, de stad Gent en de andere aandeelhouders van het IIC Universiteit Gent.
Sinds de oprichting in 1990 tot 2010 zijn er in het IIC Universiteit Gent 87 hoog-technologische bedrijven succesvol opgestart. Het feit dat er in het Incubatie- en Innovatiecentrum een grote verscheidenheid is aan vakgebieden en activiteiten van de in het IIC Universiteit Gent gevestigde onderzoeksgerichte bedrijven zorgt voor een doorgedreven synergie tussen de diverse vakgebieden waardoor nieuwe innovatieve activiteiten kunnen ontstaan.
